Per-visit or seasonal

Per-visit means you pay for exactly what happens. In a mild winter you pay very little. In a hard one you pay considerably more. It is the honest, transparent option, and it is what most residential customers choose.

Seasonal means one price covering the entire winter, however many events there are. You are trading a little expected value for certainty - in a heavy winter you win, in a mild one we do. Most commercial clients and a growing number of homeowners choose it because a fixed number is easier to budget than a variable one.

How we price a season

We do not publish a seasonal number, and it is worth explaining why rather than being cagey about it. A seasonal price depends on your measured square footage, how your property behaves in a storm, and where you sit in the county - and that last one matters more than people expect.

Armada Township and Washington Township reliably take substantially more snow than Warren or Eastpointe. A seasonal figure that is fair in the north is overpriced in the south, and one that is fair in the south would be unsustainable in the north. Publishing a single number would mean one of those two groups is being quietly overcharged, so we quote it properly instead.

Start with the calculator to get your per-visit price. Then ask us to price the season alongside it and you can compare both with real numbers in front of you.

What a seasonal contract includes

  • Unlimited visits at the two-inch trigger for the contracted season
  • Repeat passes during heavy events at no additional charge
  • Bank pushback as the season accumulates
  • Priority routing - seasonal customers are placed first
  • A fixed payment schedule, typically spread across the season rather than charged up front

Salting is quoted separately either way, so a seasonal contract does not quietly commit you to ice management you did not ask for.

Which one should you pick?

If a variable winter bill is genuinely inconvenient - a fixed household budget, a commercial property with an annual operating plan, a rental you are managing remotely - take the seasonal. If you can absorb a heavy February and would rather pay only for what actually happens, take per-visit.

We will tell you which one we think fits your property, and we do not push seasonal contracts on people who are better off per-visit.

Questions about seasonal snow removal contracts

Which works out cheaper, seasonal or per-visit?

Over a run of average winters they are close by design. Per-visit wins in mild winters, seasonal wins in heavy ones. Seasonal is about predictability rather than savings, and anyone telling you it is always cheaper is selling rather than advising.

Why is the seasonal price not on the website?

Because it depends heavily on where in the county you are. North Macomb takes far more snow than the south end, and a single published number would mean overcharging one of them. We would rather quote it properly.

When does the season run?

Typically November 1 through March 31, with flexibility at either end when Michigan decides to be Michigan about it.

Can I switch mid-season?

Not once a season has started - the pricing depends on covering the whole winter. Pick before November 1 and we will help you choose honestly.
