How Eastpointe handles snow: Eastpointe’s Public Works Division salts and plows every city street, major and local, except Eight Mile and Ten Mile, which the city lists as Wayne County and Macomb County roads. Owners or occupants must clear the sidewalk in front of or beside their property within 24 hours after snow falls (Sec. 38-83.3). If it is not cleared, the city gives an additional 24-hour notice before its contractor does the work, and the owner is billed for the cost plus administrative fees. Snow or ice from a sidewalk, driveway approach or private property may not be put onto a sidewalk, street, neighboring property or right-of-way (Sec. 38-83.4).
