Privacy policy

The short version

We collect what you send us in a quote request, plus anonymous analytics about how the site is used. We do not sell anything to anyone. The snow calculator runs in your browser and does not send your driveway measurements anywhere unless you press the booking button.

What you give us deliberately

When you request a quote through the form or call us, we collect your name, contact details, property address and whatever you tell us about the work. That goes into our job management system (Jobber) and is used to quote and schedule your work. It is retained for as long as we have a business relationship plus whatever period tax and insurance record-keeping requires.

The snow calculator

The calculator is entirely client-side. Selecting a driveway size, adding extras and reading the price all happen in your browser, and none of it reaches us. If you trace your driveway on the map, that tracing also stays local. Only when you press the booking button does the resulting square footage and price travel with you into the quote form as URL parameters, so we know what you priced.

The AI hardscape designer

If you upload a photo, it is transmitted to a third-party image generation service to produce your preview. We do not publish your photo, we do not use it in marketing, and we do not attach it to your name unless you subsequently send it to us with a quote request. If you would rather not upload a photo of your house, the tool works from a text description alone.

Text messages

If you give us your mobile number when you request a quote or book work — on the form, or verbally when you call — we may text you about your property: that we are coming out for a storm, that a visit is done, a link to an estimate you asked for, and replies when you text us back. We text our own customers about their own work. We do not text people who have not asked us to do something.

Your mobile number is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. It is shared only with the messaging provider that delivers the message on our behalf (Twilio) and with our job management system, for that purpose alone.

Message frequency varies with the weather and with what work you have booked — in a bad winter week that may be several messages, and in summer it may be none. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your carrier and plan.

Reply STOP to any message and you are unsubscribed immediately; reply START to turn them back on, and HELP for contact details. You can also just tell us and we will switch it off at our end. Opting out of texts does not affect your service — we will call you instead.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people use and where they give up. It sets cookies and collects a truncated IP address, device type, referring source and the pages you visit. It is configured with cross-domain linking to our booking system so a quote request is not misattributed as a new visit.

We do not use it for advertising remarketing. If you would rather not be measured, a browser-level tracker blocker or Google's own opt-out browser add-on will stop it, and nothing on this site breaks if you do.

What we do not do

• We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, for any price.
• We do not run advertising pixels from social platforms on this site.
• We do not send marketing email to people who only requested a quote.
• We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number with anyone for their own marketing.
• We do not use dark patterns to obtain a phone number before showing a price.

Third parties that necessarily see something

Jobber (quote and job management), Twilio (delivering our text messages), Resend (delivering our email), Google Analytics (usage measurement), Netlify (site hosting and server logs), and the image generation provider behind the AI designer. Each sees only what its function requires.

Your requests

Email hello@macomblawnsnow.com to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. We will do it. If you are in a jurisdiction with a statutory right to that, this is us honoring it without making you cite the statute.

Children

This site is for people buying property services. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will change the date at the top. We will not quietly broaden it and hope nobody re-reads it.
